An intentional plan for church growth which utilizes strategic teams and individual commitments to enlarge the worship crowds, reach the unchurched, strengthen the small group ministry and evangelize the lost.  Touch ministry participants can expect spiritual warfare as they seek to lead all people to become committed, maturing followers of Jesus Christ.  Each team is a part of a larger army of believers who are committed to touching their community with Christ’s love.

Scouts

Prospect Search, Community Survey.

Primary Target

Specified neighborhoods, housing complexes or particular groups of people.

 Plan

The scouts will meet once a month.  Team members will be divided into teams of two.  Teams will engage in various activities, such as conducting surveys, in order to touch our community and to find prospects. Teams will be trained.

Schedule:
The Scouts will meet the
third Monday night of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Rangers

Contact prospects who visit HDBC.

Primary Target
Prospects  who visit HDBC.

 Plan

The Rangers will be divided into small teams.  These teams will be responsible for making a series of personal contacts with prospects during the three weeks which follow their first visit.  These contacts will be made via phone, email, postal mail, and visits.  Each team will have a team leader.

Teams will be made up of 4-8 members.  Assignments will be made to team leaders no later than Monday evenings.  Team leaders will share prospect information with all team members and begin to make assignments.  Once an assignment is made, the team member will make the contact according to his/her schedule and will report back to the team leader when the contact has been made.

List of Contacts to be Made by Each Team

Minimum of three email or postal notes.

  Minimum of two phone calls.

  Minimum of one personal visit.

  Weekly prayer for the prospects.

   Special Forces

Special forces members will seek to reach family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances through relationship evangelism.

Primary Target

Those with whom you come into contact on a regular basis, family members, neighbors, and friends.

Plan

Special forces will intentionally seek to reach the lost and unchurched through the normal course of their lives.  They will look for ways to minister to and share Jesus with those whom they know and with whom we relate on a regular basis.  There will be no regular meetings of this team, due to the nature of this strategy.  Team members are encouraged to report witness experiences with the team leader, as well as other team members.

Team Member Responsibilities:

Maintain an active prayer list of lost people.
Seek to witness to at least one person each month.
Seek to invite one person to church each week.

Medics

Medics will make encouraging contacts to small group ministry members who are absent.

Primary Target

Members of HDBC small groups who are absent.

Plan

The medics will meet once a month to make contacts with those who have been absent in small groups and Sunday School classes.  Contacts will be made through letters and phone calls.
